Flybe cabin bag allowances – Travelling by plane can be a relaxing and comfortable way of starting a holiday or business trip, but it is important to have easy access to refreshments, personal items, entertainment (such as electronic devices, books or magazines) and essential medication. Whether or not you have a main suitcase to check in (to be carried in the cargo hold), you should also take on board an item of hand luggage. However, before you travel, you should be aware of the restrictions on what you can take on board in terms of your cabin bag’s size, weight and contents: these restrictions differ between airlines.Flybe cabin bag allowances faq

The size and weight restrictions on your Flybe cabin bag will depend on which company is operating your flight, so check this before you pack.

If you are flying with Flybe/Blue Islands, each passenger can take on board one ‘cabin bag’ (which must be stored in the overhead locker) and one small bag such as a laptop bag or handbag (which must be stored under the seat in front of you). The cabin bag must be no larger than 55cm x 35cm x 20cm; the handbag/laptop bag must be smaller than your cabin bag. The total maximum weight for your cabin bag and handbag/laptop bag (together) must be no more than 10kg – so, if your cabin bag weighs 8kg, your handbag/laptop bag must weigh no more than 2kg.

Flights operated by Stobart Air allow one cabin bag per passenger, and this must be no larger than 49cm x 37m x 22cm and no heavier than 7kg.

On a Loganair flight with Flybe, cabin bags must be no larger than 40cm x 35cm x 18cm and weigh a maximum of 6kg.

Double check before leaving home that you understand which Flybe cabin bag allowance applies to you by referring to your ticket to see which flight operator is responsible for your flight. It is very important that you weigh and measure your cabin bags carefully before checking in, taking care to include any wheels, handles or external pockets in your measurements. Remember that if you plan to buy anything from the airport, this will need to be stored in your hand luggage and will count towards its weight and size.

You can check the size and weight of your hand luggage at the airport. If you go over your limits, your cabin bag(s) will need to be checked in to be placed in the cargo hold with your main luggage and you will receive an excess baggage charge. It is therefore worth considering buying a Flybe cabin bag for your journey so that you can be confident that it will be accepted into the cabin with you.

You will not be allowed to carry on board any sharp objects and there are other restrictions in place as to what items cannot be taken on board for safety reasons. If you are taking on board any electronic devices, these must be fully charged before you travel.
